About Us
We are a group of student advocates in the Master’s in Health and the Public Interest program at Georgetown University. From our own personal experiences and stories we heard from those around us, we recognized that there is a pain problem: people seeking gynecological care are not being heard when they express discomfort or pain when undergoing gynecological procedures. While common, experiencing pain is not inevitable. As public health advocates who understand the importance of preventative and reproductive care, we set out to research options for pain management and translate it into digestible form for patients to use as a resource for preparing for gynecological screenings and procedures. Thus, pappain.org was born.
Your health is important to us, and we hope that these guides will provide you with the information needed to understand what your options are for mitigating pain, and how to express your needs to providers.
